Day 1 – Arrival in Skopje & Evening Stroll

Welcome to Skopje! Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. In the evening, take a relaxed orientation walk through Macedonia Square, where the Vardar River divides the city. Admire the mix of neoclassical facades and modern monuments before enjoying a welcome dinner at a traditional Macedonian restaurant.

Day 2 – Skopje Highlights & Matka Canyon

After breakfast, set out on a guided city tour: see the Stone Bridge, the Old Bazaar, the Kale Fortress, and the Mother Teresa Memorial House. Learn about Skopje’s fascinating mix of Ottoman, Byzantine, and modern history.

In the afternoon, take a short excursion to Matka Canyon, one of Macedonia’s natural treasures. Enjoy a boat ride through the gorge or a short hike along the scenic trails. Return to Skopje for a free evening — explore local cafes or sample rakija in a cozy bar.

Day 3 – Skopje ➝ Bitola & Evening Promenade

After breakfast, travel south through the scenic Pelagonia valley to Bitola, known as the “City of Consuls.” Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and take a relaxed evening stroll down Širok Sokak, Bitola’s charming pedestrian boulevard. Admire its elegant 19th-century architecture and enjoy the café culture that makes this city so unique. Dinner is at leisure or with your group at a local restaurant.

Day 4 – Heraclea & Cultural Discoveries

Start your day with a visit to the ancient ruins of Heraclea Lyncestis, founded by Philip II of Macedon. Explore its impressive mosaics, Roman theater, and basilicas. Return to Bitola for a guided city tour, including the Clock Tower, the Yeni Mosque, and the vibrant Old Bazaar.

Spend the afternoon at leisure — perhaps relax in a café, visit the local museum, or simply enjoy people-watching on Širok Sokak before regrouping for a traditional dinner.

Day 5 – Bitola ➝ Ohrid & Lakefront Sunset

After breakfast, depart Bitola and travel west to Ohrid, the UNESCO-listed jewel of Macedonia. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and take a relaxed afternoon stroll along Ohrid’s lakefront promenade. As the sun sets over Lake Ohrid, enjoy a peaceful evening and dinner at a restaurant overlooking the water.

Day 6 – Discovering Ohrid’s Treasures

Today is dedicated to exploring the “Jerusalem of the Balkans.” Visit the Church of St. Sophia, the Ancient Theatre, and the hilltop Samuel’s Fortress for panoramic views. Stroll through the narrow cobbled streets of the Old Town, lined with traditional houses and artisan workshops.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Ohrid to the iconic Church of St. John at Kaneo, one of the most photographed spots in the country. The evening is free for you to relax or try Ohrid’s famous pearl shops and lakeside bars before a farewell dinner with the group.

Day 7 – Return to Skopje

This is where the tour ends, the departure day.
