Day 1 – Arrival and Sofia City Introduction

Upon arrival at Sofia Airport, a private transfer will be waiting to escort you to your hotel for check-in.

Later, enjoy a guided introduction to Sofia, exploring the city’s rich blend of ancient history and modern life. Visit Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, one of Eastern Europe’s largest Orthodox churches; stroll through Vitosha Boulevard, the city’s vibrant shopping and dining street; and admire landmarks such as the National Palace of Culture and the Ancient Serdica ruins.

Return to your hotel for overnight stay in Sofia.

Day 2 – Optional Excursion: Rila Monastery Day Tour(approx. 8h)

After breakfast, join an optional full-day excursion to explore one of Bulgaria’s UNESCO World Heritage treasures — the Rila Monastery.

Travel in a comfortable minibus through the scenic Bulgarian countryside and the pine-covered Rila Mountains. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of the monastery’s fresco-coated church, and visit the fascinating museum to learn about its history and cultural significance. After the guided portion, you will have free time to explore independently.

Return to Sofia in the late afternoon for overnight stay.

Day 2 – Optional Excursion: Sofia Food & Tasting Tour with Communist-Era Tram Ride(approx. 3h)

Enjoy a small-group culinary adventure through Sofia, tasting authentic Bulgarian flavors at five unique stops. Sample traditional dishes such as flaky banitsa, grilled cheese on a tile, peppers stuffed the old way, slow-cooked lamb, and a surprise dessert, guided by a passionate local host.

Travel around the city on a historic Communist-era tram, with a city card included for unlimited travel throughout the day. Each tasting stop provides insight into local life, history, and culture. Enjoy Bulgarian beer and a glass of local wine, along with traditional appetizers, meals, and dessert. The tasting menu is subject to seasonal availability; it is recommended to come with an empty stomach.

Return to your hotel in Sofia for overnight stay.

Day 2 – Optional Activity: Traditional Albanian Cooking Class with Raki Tasting (approx. 4h)

Immerse yourself in Albanian culture through an authentic hands-on cooking experience in Tirana.

Join a friendly local chef who will guide you step-by-step in preparing traditional Albanian dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Learn about the country’s culinary heritage while sampling a variety of appetizers and enjoying a fun rakia tasting—Albania’s beloved fruit brandy.

Day 2 - Optional Excursion: Plovdiv, Asen's Fortress & Bachkovo Monastery – Small Group Tour (approx. 9h)

Travel comfortably by private vehicle from Sofia to Plovdiv, the country’s second-largest city, known for its Roman theater, charming old town, and vibrant arts scene. Continue to Asen’s Fortress, perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the Rhodope Mountains. Conclude at Bachkovo Monastery, one of Bulgaria’s oldest and most revered monasteries, rich with Orthodox heritage.

A professional guide will provide insightful commentary on the Roman, Ottoman, and modern history of each site. Enjoy a hassle-free day with included hotel pickup and drop-off.

Day 3 – Departure from Sofia: Farewell to Bulgaria

After breakfast at your hotel, check out and take your private transfer to Sofia Airport for your departure flight.
